Horizon Properties Group’s first project was the original framework for Southpointe I, a mixed-use business park located in Cecil Township, Pennsylvania. The birth of Southpointe included the development of Southpointe Golf Course and Golf Club, the Fairway Landings and Ironwood residential communities, Southpointe Commons and several office buildings, all located approximately 15 miles from Pittsburgh and approximately 20 miles from Pittsburgh International Airport. Located in a growth corridor on I-79 in Washington County, Pennsylvania, Southpointe I has established a reputation as an economic development catalyst for the region, employing approximately 5,000 people and but also fostering the growth of large multi-national companies and smaller local companies alike.
As the years have progressed, so has Horizon’s portfolio of properties and projects, including Southpointe II, the extension of Southpointe I that is current under construction. Connected to the rest of the park by Southpointe Boulevard, Southpointe II will house two hotels, an office condominium complex called Embassy Park at Southpointe II, an upscale residential complex called The Villages and Southpointe Town Center, a retail center that will include a 14-screen movie theater, restaurants, a junior convention center and several national retailers. As well, Southpointe II will be home to the world headquarters for Consol Energy and elegant office buildings housing Fortune 500 and Fortune 1000 companies. Horizon developed Evergreene Technology Park in Waynesburg, Pennsylvania. Evergreene is unique in that its pastoral location belies its technology backbone. Created in partnership with the Pittsburgh Supercomputing Center and its affiliated colleges and universities, the park is a fully-wired technology mecca in the heart of Greene County, Pennsylvania.
